Job Title: Class A CDL Shuttle Driver / Forklift Operator

 

Job Overview:

To safely transport product via forklift and when required by tractor trailer.   Product will be transported to/from assigned locations and to/from tractor trailers.  Transport and deliver freight in a safe, efficient, predictable, legal manner while completing and maintaining all necessary paperwork required under state, federal law and regulations.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operate the forklift in a timely and professional manner in accordance with OSHA laws.
  • Safely maneuver forklift at varying speeds and in tight loading dock areas.
  • Support internal equipment maintenance records, files and/or paperwork required for regulatory compliance with the state, federal government and company. EXAMPLE:
    • Inspect forklift for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after each shift in accordance with OSHA laws. Complete Forklift Operator’s Daily Inspection Sheet.
  • Submit complete, neat and accurate paperwork for each trailer unloaded.
  • Ensure trailer cleanliness (free from debris, nails, etc.) before loading with product.
  • Report all delays due to breakdowns, accidents, emergencies and/or any other irregularities relating to pick up or delivery of inventory.
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the shift manager immediately, including personal injury.
  • Comply with all company rules governing cell phones, warehouse operations and all other relative processes.
  • To inspect truck and trailer for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after each trip and submit a written Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) each time a defect is found. To ensure truck cleanliness both inside and out. Trailer must be cleaned (remove debris, pull nails, and swept out minimum.) before loading at customer or dropping in yard.
  • To submit neat, accurate and complete paperwork at the end of each round and meet all other paperwork timelines, as required.
